Jonah's Treehouse is collaborating with Kids Moving Company ® to offer a sensory-based, perceptual-motor program to a small group of children. The program will run Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:30-4:00 starting November 5th. The program is limited to 6 children, and is designed to develop and enhance proprioceptive, tactile and vestibular function in the enriching environment of the Jonah's Treehouse studio. The cost is $595 for the session, and admission is by application only.
Kids Moving Company founder, Joye Newman, co-authored (with Carol Kranowitz) the highly-acclaimed book, Growing an In-Sync Child: Simple, Fun Activities to Help Every Child Develop, Learn and Grow, and the In-Sync Activity Cards. She has been implementing and directing perceptual-motor programs at local preschools for the past 28 years. A respected author, speaker, and perceptual-motor therapist, Ms. Newman will design and oversee the program. This pilot program will serve as a model for future small-group programs. Parents will receive an assessment of their child's perceptual-motor functioning at the conclusion of the 4-week session.
To apply for this pilot program, complete the application form here and deliver to the front desk of Jonah's Treehouse, or email to: kmc@kidsmovingco.com.
Custom playgroups are pre-formed groups that meet at our studio at the same time each week. Typical times are 4-5pm or 5-6pm; groups meet once a week. During the fall and winter, custom playgroups fill quickly, so be sure to book your group early. Email vicki@jonahstreehouse.com with "custom playgroup" in the subject line if you wish to reserve a spot for the session.
